Our established manufacturing Client based in Kent (Medway) is seeking a MaterialsBuyer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of two others - the role of MaterialsBuyer will suit candidates with experience of purchasing within manufacturing.
This role reports to the Senior Buyer.
Salary: TBC, paid monthly
Hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, 12.30pm finish Friday
Benefits: discretionary bonus scheme, 25 days leave + BH, rising to 27 days
contributory pension scheme, free parking
Own transport essential due to Client’s rural location

MaterialsBuyer Job Purpose:
The MaterialsBuyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the best quality products, goods and services at the most competitive prices to meet the operational needs of the organisation. This includes supplier selection, negotiation and contract management.
MaterialsBuyer Experience and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant purchasing experience - manufacturing or engineering
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills - essential
- Good level of education - A Level or equivalent - higher education desirable but not essential
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ideally experience of ERP
- Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate.
- Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative.
- Strong co-ordination, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
- The ability to build effective collaborative working relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Customer focused problem-solving skills.
