Premier Engineering is recruiting for a Stores Manager to join a growing and dynamic manufacturing company in Rochester. This role involves managing the daily operations of the stores, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting the production team to meet business demands.

The Stores Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and control systems
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for stock management (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency
  • Forklift license or experience would be an advantage
The Stores Manager role will involve:
  • Overseeing all aspects of the stores and inventory management
  • Ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained and recorded within the ERP system
  • Managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in a timely and organized manner
  • Supervising and mentoring a small team of stores personnel
  • Coordinating with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure material availability
  • Conducting regular stock checks and resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment in line with health and safety regulations
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency
