Pipe Maintenance & Drainage Operative

Rochford, Essex (on site with occasional travel)

Permanent, Full time (47½ hours)

£12.00-17.00 depending on experience + competitive overtime

Our client is a drainage services company offering a wide range of services including drain repairs and maintenance, civil engineering and trenchless solutions.

If you’ve got experience in Steam Curing, Hot Curing, or Pipe Welding this role could be a great fit for you!

This position will include some heavy lifting and a lot of physical work, including time in confined spaces and exposure to extreme weather. You’ll be responsible for routine vehicle inspections, keeping everything in order with well-organized time sheets and reports, and participating in toolbox talks, stand downs, and equipment maintenance.

You will have:

  • Experience working in a similar industry (e.g. drainage, utilities, water treatment) or within the construction sector.
  • Experience with compact pipe installation, including steam curing, hot cure, pipe welding, patch installation, and ambient curing of resins would be an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety first culture in working environments, especially when completing vehicle checks, operating machinery or handling resins and curing systems, as well carrying out toolbox talks and stand-downs.
  • Comfortable with completing paperwork, including time sheets and daily logs.
  • Must be prepared for occasional overnight stays and travel to various locations across the UK.
  • Ability to work away from home, with occasional flexibility in working hours (e.g. weekends or night shifts as required)

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered with Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS)
  • City and Guilds - Confined Spaces
  • EUSR SHEA (water - multi-utility as required).
  • NRSWA (new roads and street works act)
  • Driving Licence (valid for UK) (clean).
