Chef- Perm Role- Term Time only- Essex area

We have a permanent Chef position available at a reputable educational institution in Essex. This role is term-time only, allowing you to enjoy the school holidays while managing the provision of high-quality food services during the academic year. You will ensure a pleasant meal experience for pupils, staff, and visitors, upholding the standards set by the Trust. 

Type- Term time only

Time- 8am - 2pm

Salary: £23,222 - £25,078 (depending on experience) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen and dining areas, maintaining high professional standards.
  • Organise and train the catering team to deliver meals that meet nutritional standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and School Business Manager to promote healthy eating.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations, and stock control.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in a chef or catering management role.
  • Ability to develop menus and manage stock efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with internal and external contacts.
  • Must have a Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 or above) and NVQ Level 3 Catering Qualification or equivalent.
