Morgan Hunt are working with a growing Education organisation based in Romford. This is a temporary HR Officer role for 3 months to begin with but has a chance of extension/permanency. The role is paying £18 - £22.30 per hour reporting into a Director of HR and helping to look after a multi-site organisation. The HR Officer role will mainly be based in sites in Romford with some working from home and working from an Ilford site.In this role, you will contribute to a competitive and cost-effective HR service, handling key administrative, payroll, and employee-related tasks. Job Purpose
  • Support the Director of People in delivering a high-quality, commercially aware HR service.
  • Perform a wide range of administrative, payroll, and pension-related tasks.
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff members with HR queries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to employee records, documents, and databases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices.
Main Responsibilities
  • Provide HR and payroll support, responding to employee and payroll queries.
  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and Trust policies.
  • Administer starter, leaver, and contract change processes, including issuing relevant documentation.
  • Manage payroll processes, including pension administration and absence reporting.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance by maintaining accurate employee records and conducting regular data reviews.
  • Support employee relations meetings by taking minutes and managing documentation.
Person Specification
  • Essential:

    • Previous experience in HR administration and payroll processes.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling confidential data.
    • Good knowledge of HR policies, particularly regarding recruitment and employee relations.
    • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
    • Proficient in using HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Desirable:

    • CIPD qualification or working towards it.
    • Experience in the education sector or public sector HR.
    • Familiarity with GDPR and employment law.
