Randstad is partnered exclusively with the Empower Learning Academy Trust for all recruitment needs. We are currently recruiting for a English Teacher to join Bower Park Academy as soon as possible for a maternity cover contract.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. You will play a pivotal role in helping students develop their literacy skills, creativity, and critical thinking abilities, ensuring they achieve their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on the progress and development of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression across the department.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, fostering a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and relevant school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
