Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Solutions Officer for a local authority client based in East London.

In this role, you will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused homelessness service by assessing needs, creating tailored housing plans, and working to prevent and relieve homelessness in accordance with statutory duties.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out homelessness assessments, make statutory decisions, and issue all relevant legal notifications in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Develop and manage personalised housing plans to prevent and relieve homelessness, exploring all viable housing options.
  • Provide high-quality housing advice and support, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to government reporting and service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience of conducting homelessness assessments and making decisions under the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Proven ability to create and manage personalised housing plans and deliver effective homelessness prevention or relief outcomes.
  • Strong background in providing housing advice across public and private sectors, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Experience of working with partner agencies and maintaining accurate case records for performance monitoring and statutory reporting.

What's on offer:

Salary: £20+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 5-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
