Service Care Solutions is proud to assist the London Borough of Havering in recruiting a Reparation & Restorative Justice Worker to join their Youth Offending Service. This critical role is part of the Starting Well initiative and focuses on reducing youth offending, delivering restorative justice interventions, and supporting victims. By fostering community confidence and rehabilitating offenders, this position contributes to building a safer, more inclusive community.

  • Location: Town Hall, Main Road, Romford, RM1 3AR
  • Contract Duration: 10/02/2025 - 14/07/2025 (with the potential for extension)
  • Working Hours: 36 hours per week (flexible, including evenings and weekends)
  • Rate: £22 - £25 Umbrella (dependent on experience)
Key Objectives
  • Deliver practical reparative activities and supervise young offenders.
  • Facilitate restorative justice processes for victims and offenders.
  • Promote victim awareness and encourage victims' participation in restorative practices.
  • Attend community panels and support victims in expressing their views.
  • Collaborate with the Reparation, Unpaid Work, and Junior Attendance Centre Coordinator to ensure compliance with national and local standards.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to prevent youth offending.
  • Maintain accurate case records and adhere to health and safety protocols.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience:

    • Working with young offenders and their families.
    • Delivering restorative justice interventions and mediation.
    • Supervising group programs or offenders in statutory or voluntary settings.
  • Qualifications:

    • Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, or Teaching (desirable).
    • Practical skills such as carpentry or painting (advantageous).
    • Valid UK driving license (preferred).
