What You Will Do:
  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead a team of social workers, care coordinators, and support staff, providing guidance, supervision, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Case Management: Oversee and drive care plans for children in care, focusing on their wellbeing. Review progress and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children by working closely with health professionals, educators, and the police to protect children from harm.
  • Decision Making: Make critical decisions regarding the care and placement of children, leveraging knowledge of legislation such as the Children Act 1989 to guide fostering, adoption, or residential care placements.
  • Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with professionals including foster carers, teachers, and healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Manage statutory requirements, ensuring timely submission of reports, care reviews, and related documentation. Represent the authority in court when necessary.
  • Training & Development: Foster the professional growth of your team, ensuring they have the skills to meet the complex needs of children in care.
