We are working with a well-established secondary school in Romford, Essex, that is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. They are looking for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead their SEND provision and ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.Role Overview:As the SENCO, you will play a key role in developing and implementing the school's SEND strategy, ensuring high-quality support for students with additional needs. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create an inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SEND provision across the school, ensuring all students receive appropriate support.
  • Oversee and manage the EHCP process, including applications, reviews, and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated learning.
  • Line manage and support Teaching Assistants and SEND support staff.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Monitor and track student progress, implementing effective interventions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEND students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) (or working towards).
  • Experience working as a SENCO or in a leadership role within SEND.
  • Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEND legislation, and best practices in inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with students, staff, and external professionals
  • A passion for ensuring all students can access high-quality education and reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
