Are you an experienced LGV driver with a passion for waste collection? Join our client’s dedicated team and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and reliable collection of waste from designated points. As an LGV Driver, you will not only drive but also oversee a team, ensuring that the daily rounds are completed on time while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the waste collection team to ensure daily rounds are completed within expected timescales.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects to ensure vehicle maintenance and roadworthiness.
- Drive and/or operate the waste collection vehicle for daily waste collection duties, which may include loading tasks.
- Complete all required records (paper or digital) promptly and legibly, including round reports, driver logbooks, and defect reports.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.
- Collaborate with team members to meet service commitments and ensure a smooth operation.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various locations.
- Flexibility to take on different tasks as required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
- Physically capable of undertaking manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within Local Government environmental services.
- Ability to drive vehicles in the 3.5t to 26t range, including LGVs.
- Relevant driving qualifications, including a Class C licence, Driver Qualification Card (DQC), and HIAB Certificate, where applicable.
- A professional, enthusiastic attitude, with a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to work well with the public and within the team.

- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to take individual responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with the public.
- A good sense of initiative and the ability to work in any weather.
