We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to lead our packhouse operations and manage shift activities. This role is central to ensuring efficient production, adherence to high standards, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Ensure production targets are met and processes continually improved.
    • Oversee the day-to-day management of packing operations, maintaining discipline and a clean, safe work environment.
    • Monitor changeover times and the timely supply of raw materials to minimize downtime.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Manage and motivate the packing team to achieve optimum throughput and performance.
    • Maintain up-to-date personnel and training records, and support individual development needs.
    • Recruit and develop a strong, cohesive team that drives results.
  • Process & Compliance:
    • Implement process improvements by identifying areas of weakness and developing effective solutions.
    • Ensure all staff adhere to hygiene, safety, and jewellery policies, addressing non-conformance immediately.
    • Oversee paperwork and record-keeping as per company standards and training schedules.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory regulations, including Employment, Fire, Health & Safety, and Hygiene.
  • Customer Service & Performance Monitoring:
    • Maintain a clear understanding of customer requirements and ensure standards are consistently met.
    • Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth and efficient business operations.
    • Report any operational issues to the Packhouse Manager promptly.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Consistent adherence to company standards through regular audits.
  • Compliance with food safety, health and safety, and equipment usage policies.
  • Achievement of individual and team objectives set during appraisals and 1:1 meetings.
  • Minimisation of customer complaints and effective budget management (payroll and expenses).
