About the role:

This is a large secondary School based Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh. The school is popular and successful, with high expectations of students as they provide the best learning environments possible through developing schemes of learning collaboratively to keep pupils challenged. They put an emphasis on developing the whole child through personal development, and prioritise their pupils have a smooth transition from primary to secondary school with maximum enjoyment and minimum anxiety.

They recently achieved an Ofsted rating of 'Good', who wrote:

‘This is a happy school. Pupils feel cared for, and they value the support and encouragement from pastoral and guidance staff. Behaviour is positive and there are high levels of respect between pupils, and between pupils and adults. Pupils are proud of the school’s inclusive culture, where all are welcome, regardless of background or need.’

During this role, you will be covering an absent from easter until summer class teacher in accordance with the school’s curriculum, along with their teaching standards, such as creating a positive atmosphere, keeping high expectations of pupils and having positive relations with the class.  You will have to ensure the safety and care of pupils, keep the students engaged and encourage them to push themselves to achieve grade targets. You must have a passion and enthusiasm for English that you can project onto your lessons!

Requirements:

- Qualified Teacher Status with degree in relevant subject matter.- A passion for teaching and enthusiasm for your subject specialism.- Available five days per week starting as soon as compliant.- Ability to get to the school.- Entitlement to work in the UK.- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - or be willing to obtain.- Overseas Police Check - if required.
