My client have a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding Southampton ( Romsey )Painting division ,( dont be discouraged if you dont have painting experience this is a nice to have and we welcome any transferrable sector background to apply)

Background in brickwork or plastering in terms of QS would be very transferrable

The Quantity Surveyor role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you willactively tender, estimate and measure onsitetherefore, you are fully involved from tendering and estimating through to final accounts, with the ability to have a real impact on our profitability and our commercial success.

  • Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any risks
  • Manage the pricing of tenders to maximise business wins and profitability
  • Prepare cost value reconciliationsfor contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives and sub-contractor management
  • Build strong client relations, to ensure any variations and progress of contracts are discussed

What will you bring as a Quantity Surveyor?

  • You may be an experienced Quantity Surveyor, or Assistant Surveyor, looking for youre the next chapter in your career
  • The ability to demonstrate ownership of contracts, including estimating/ tendering, cost control, CVR management through to final accounts.

You will beanalytical, organised, and honestas well as being a genuinepeople person who relishes in communicating effectivelywith clients, trade teams and immediate colleagues fostering a real working together environment.
