Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading & growing subsidiary of a well-known International Group to recruit a dynamic, hands-on and experienced Accountant for their Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire site. A growth role for the organisation reporting directly to the CFO, with the opportunity to progress to a Financial Controller role in the future for the right candidate. The position is varied involving accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business partnering and analysis, with the opportunity to supervise a small team in the future. Open to part-qualified/qualified Accountants or qualified by experience finance professionals, seeking a broad accounting opportunity where they can really add value within an interesting sector.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve preparing management accounts and reporting for both UK and international entities, preparing forecasts, budgets, financial planning and cash flow information. Cash management, regulatory functions including monthly VAT returns and monthly EC sales list. You will manage daily accounts processes including accruals, prepayments, journals, fixed asset register along with payments and reconciliations. You will support the preparation for financial audits, be responsible for stock control, controlling costs by business partnering with internal stakeholders and be involved in oversight of payroll/credit control processes. You will be involved in ad-hoc analysis, process/system improvements as the business grows further, and support driving efficiency within the finance department. The position will grow as you develop in the business if wanted, including supervising a small team and progressing to a Financial Controller role.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and varied Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience, with strong MS excel and financial systems skills. You will have strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships at all levels, be comfortable communicating with non-financial management, key attention to detail, and be used to managing your own workloads to meet deadlines. You will be willing to learn, a self-starter who can adapt to business needs. Experience within an international business with Sage 50 knowledge and supervisory skills would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

This hands-on accountant role offers a salary between £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, based in Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire, dependable on experience.
