  • The position offers a competitive salary of £65,000 to £75,000, depending on experience.
  • This role will play a critical part in the future sale of the business, working closely with the CFO and GFC on financial and tax due diligence.

Following a successful financial re-structure our client is keen to secure a Group Financial Accountant who’ll be responsible for ensuring all financial compliance requirements are met. This will include statutory and financial regulatory reporting and tax compliance for 21 UK stat entities, which consists of a complex PE structure and debt/equity structure. The role will also oversee company tax which includes interest restriction and transfer pricing so plenty to get involved with. This role will be instrumental in the future sale of the business, supporting the CFO and GFC with financial & tax due diligence.

Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting

  • Lead on the standardisation of accounting policies between all group companies to achieve harmonisation across the group, including UK and foreign subsidiaries / Group companies.
  • Responsibility for cradle to grave statutory reporting across the Group per timetable (including consolidations) in accordance with IFRS, including technical papers / disclosures as required. To include SSAP20 for French statutory entities.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the year end timetable, supporting with the preparation of audit schedules and first point of contact for auditors.
  • Working with our tax advisors to manage the Corporation tax requirements within statutory deadlines, providing support in tax planning exercises, including transfer pricing and interest restrictions.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with financial reporting standards and tax compliance, to include assessing the impact of any future changes and ensuring the correct implementation across the Group.

Regulatory and Compliance Reporting

  • Responsibility for regulatory reporting, ensuring all deadlines are met, to include ABTA, CAA, CAR and IATA. Responsible for the annual renewal for CAA, CAR and IATA and supporting with the provision of information for the annual renewal for ABTA.
  • To carry out internal audits for ABTA, CAA, CAR and IATA to ensure we meet the requirements of the regulator.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with changes in regulation and legislation applicable to the industry ensuring the Group remains compliant.
  • Responsible for Group Company secretarial and KYC requirements.

External and Internal Audit

  • Responsible for delivery of the annual financial audit and lead contact for auditors.
  • Support in the creation and ongoing running of an internal audit committee.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Responsible for carrying out regular internal financial audits, providing feedback and recommendations for areas for improvement.

Skills, Experience & Achievements

  • Recently qualified ACA/ ACCA /CIMA
  • Evidence of significant experience of working in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to question & influence
  • Experience of statutory and tax reporting, to include consolidations
  • Experience of working in a regulatory & controlled environment
  • Successfully led annual audit process, to include technical papers (Impairment & SBP)
  • Up to date with UK GAAP and IFRS

Desirable (however not essential)

  • Experience in French statutory accounts and SSAP20
