Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a successful and leading Agricultural/Farming Group to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in their Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire office. You will report directly to the Financial Controller, taking a lead on all aspects of accounting including reporting, cash flow forecasting, budgeting and analysis. A varied accounting role where you can really add value, open to finance professionals who are part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve maintaining accurate financial records throughout the year, maximising company cashflow and providing a high level of service provision to various internal and external stakeholders. Production of clear monthly reports based on financial year with insightful commentary on variance analysis compared to budget. Report on both the cashflow and profitability basis of various entities within the group, review current financial processes, systems and controls and make suggestions for improvements and efficiencies. Perform financial analysis to help manage the business and to aid key business decisions, manage costs throughout the year, and work with other accountants within the team to proactively strive for best practice. You will support the Financial Controller during the annual audit, along with ad-hoc projects and duties. The role will involve supporting/mentoring and remaining hands-on with junior finance team members.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Accountant/Finance Business Partner role, you will need experience in a similar position, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience. Strong MS Excel and financial systems experience, key attention to detail, with a proactive and analytical working approach. You will have strong relationship building skills and be able to influence both financial and non-financial management. You will be used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines along with being willing to learn and adapt to business needs. Although supervisory experience is not essential, you will be able to delegate and motivate junior team members, leading by example. Experience within the farming or agriculture sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
