Laboratory Scientist (LC-MS/MS)

Join our client’s team at a leading pathology laboratory, initially established to support the safety monitoring of patients on Clozapine treatment. We are looking for a Laboratory Scientist who is dedicated to maintaining high quality standards and possesses a keen interest in technical developments within the field.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct routine testing of clozapine and other therapeutic drugs in blood using LC-MS/MS, and report the results.
  • Operate and manage laboratory information management systems and sophisticated automated equipment.
  • Ensure timely distribution of supplies to clinics as required.
  • Communicate test results to medical staff and associated sister companies.
  • Maintain accurate records, write reports, and assist in the production of laboratory documentation, particularly relating to policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement quality control procedures to maintain accurate results and assist in maintaining standards consistent with compliance to relevant laboratory accreditation bodies.
  • Perform audits, quality departure management, and other duties as required to support the laboratory operations, including staff training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BSc in a relevant field (eg. Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Forensic Science etc) and ideally 1-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory within industry.
  • Experience working with LC-MS/MS is highly advantageous.
  • Strong ability to use laboratory information management systems and automated laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with medical staff and managing professional enquiries.
  • Proven ability to maintain high standards of laboratory practice and compliance with accreditation bodies.
