Our client is a family-run business near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, producing over 500 tonnes of raspberries and blueberries every season-and we're looking for a Soft Fruit Growing Technician to join them!

What You'll Be Doing:

This isn't your average desk job! Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be out in the fields, polytunnels, and glasshouses ensuring our soft fruit thrives. Your responsibilities will include:

Plant Husbandry & Growing

  • Helping plan what and when to plant.
  • Monitoring pruning (both winter and summer).
  • Keeping pests and diseases at bay.
  • Ensuring optimal pollination and growing conditions.

Monitoring & Testing

  • Sampling soil, leaves, and substrates for testing.
  • Researching new techniques and trialling innovative methods.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborating with the Production and Irrigation teams to coordinate tasks.
  • Ensuring workers are in the right place at the right time to keep things running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:

We need someone who's as passionate about plants as we are, and ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience with soft fruit growing.
  • Knowledge of plant protection products (PPPs) and fertigation systems.
  • An NRoSo spraying certification (bonus points if you have it, but not essential).
  • A full driving license.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and planning skills.
  • The ability to work independently and a willingness to learn.
