A prestigious and well-established company based in Haslingden is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to join their team. This permanent role offers a competitive salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, along with an attractive benefits package.

In this pivotal role, you will be the cornerstone of the company's commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. Reporting directly to the Production Operations Manager, your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential hazards, promoting safe practices, and mitigating workplace injuries and illnesses.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Developing and implementing safe operational procedures that address all relevant hazards.
- Performing regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Auditing working practices to ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards.
- Investigating incidents and accidents, compiling detailed reports, and briefing the Operations Manager on findings.
- Analysing accident and injury statistics to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
- Fostering a positive Health and Safety culture through engaging initiatives such as toolbox talks.
- Staying abreast of Health and Safety legislation and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Developing and reviewing Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Implementing Behavioural Observation and Correction procedures.

Ideal candidates will possess:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety Manager role.
- NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
- Proven track record in accident investigation, risk assessment, policy writing, auditing, and performance review.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track performance and identify trends.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
