An established business in Rossendale, Lancashire are currently recruiting for their next Finance Director. This position will suit a commercial/strategic and growth focused individual who wants to implement change and lead the business to a successful sale in 3-5 years time. You will work closely with the Managing Director and the board as well as external stakeholders. This is a key leadership finance role with involvement across the company’s operations and management of the finance team. Responsibilities include:
- Leading the business for a potential exit
- Leading acquisitions
- Leading the finance team and ensuring rigorous financial control, management of cash, financial and statutory reporting
- Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor external contracts and suppliers to ensure these are effective and deliver on service agreements
- Financial analysis and project review
- Finance systems development
- Commercial and strategic finance advice to the board
- Ad hoc projects and review of investment cases
Candidates should be technically strong with a robust, hands on and commercial outlook. Previous finance director / CFO experience in the construction, manufacturing, engineering, building, contracting or closely related sectors is strongly preferred. Experience of getting a company ready for sale whether that be a trade sale or through private equity would be an advantage. You will be a proven leader and enjoy working across the company operations, interacting with a broad range of management and staff, with a “roll the sleeves up” mentality.
