CompanyAn established and growing manufacturing business in Haslingden is seeking a dynamic qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Head of Finance to support the Finance Director in driving financial strategy and operational excellence. This newly created role is due to business growth and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company’s success and future development.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the FD you will manage a medium sized finance team, across reporting, transactional finance and business partnering. Whilst managing the day to day finance function you will support the FD in driving key projects through the organisation working with key non-finance stakeholders across the group. 
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long term financial planning processes.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and standard costing within the ERP system 
  • Drive improvements in financial and KPI reporting to enhance operational efficiency and decision making.
  • Lead the transactional finance team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of key financial transactions (AP, AR, payroll).
  • Ensure financial controls and compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the balance sheet, trial balance, and support month-end and year-end closing.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, lenders, and HMRC, ensuring smooth audit processes and compliance.
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes and systems to mitigate risks and support strategic growth.
Key Skills preferred
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing environment, including expertise in standard costing(desirable) and ERP systems
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage financial controls, and engage with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver strategic insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach
