Role Summary:The Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team is looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support older adults with complex mental health needs, including dementia. This role focuses on assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions that enhance occupational performance and manage the impact of mental health conditions. Balancing specialist OT duties with shared team responsibilities is essential to ensure effective community care and home treatment services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for older adults.
  • Provide direct support to individuals with complex mental health needs, addressing occupational dysfunction to improve performance.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) while maintaining an autonomous role as a senior OT.
  • Perform clinical risk assessments, measure outcomes, and analyze results to optimize care delivery.
  • Travel within the community for in-person appointments (mileage expenses are reimbursable).

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of post-registration experience in mental health, with a focus on older adults.
  • Expertise in assessing the impact of mental health on occupational functioning, particularly dementia.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and risk management skills, with a proficiency in OT assessments and interventions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage caseload priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
