Role Summary:The Occupational Therapist will join the Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team, specializing in supporting older adults with mental health needs, including dementia, through home treatment and care home liaison. The role focuses on assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve occupational functioning in individuals facing complex mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide specialist interventions tailored to individualsā€™ occupational needs.
  • Balance occupational therapy duties with shared team roles, contributing to team efficiency.
  • Travel within the community for appointments (expenses reclaimable).

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in how mental health impacts occupational performance, particularly in older adults.
  • Competent in occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-registration experience in mental health.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and deliver interventions within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Strong clinical reasoning, outcome measurement, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to building effective professional relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Occupational Therapy registration with relevant experience in mental health.
