Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Fife, is looking for a Product Engineer to join the design and development team.
This role involves overseeing the entire design process of new products, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative designs from concept to production, playing a key role in enhancing the performance and usability of existing products.
Key requirements:
- Prepare cost, delivery and technical proposals for quotations
- Provide technical support internally and externally
- Responsible for product design and feasibility
- Define and select components for quotation purposes
- Produce and maintain manufacturing documents
- Responsible for product optimisation (contribution to process optimisation)
- Off-site visits in support of enquiries, development projects and technical support
- Project planning and organisation of progress reviews
- Co-ordination and liaison with all project contacts, internal and external
- Main technical point of contact for customer (development projects)
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Product Engineer or similar role
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and best practices.
- Experience in product lifecycle management and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in Engineering or a related field.
