Our client, a successful business in the Dunfermline area, is looking to for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join their team. The purpose of this role is to be the main coordinator of all health related matters and initiatives in the workforce across the whole site.

This role is temporary, for a minimum of 1 year, but running on an on-going basis. Working 37.hours per week, my client is open this role being a condensed shift, so you could choose to only work 4 days.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with health surveillance relating to exposures to noise, vibration, radiation and chemical substances and provide reports to management.
  • Operate as the interface between ad hoc occupational health physician and HSE/P&C
  • Provide reports to management on all health-related issues periodically
  • Set up and coordinate all the initiatives and health promotion programmes agreed with P&C and HSE
  • To undertake new employee health checks and make recommendations to management for employment considering appropriate restrictions and business requirements
  • To coordinate, manage and conduct health surveillance and work assessments as required by legislation, codes of practice and organisation policy
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reporting system for measuring OH performance
  • Responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels of clinical consumables are in place
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge in OH theory, methods and best practice, highlighting any implications to the business

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have the following background and experience:

  • Formal Occupational Health qualification
  • Nursing qualification (EN/RGN)
  • Experience in Audiometry and detection
  • Experience in Spirometry and detection of HAVS
  • NEBOSH Certificate would be beneficial
  • Must be aware of current OH, H&S and relevant employee legislation
  • Certified first aider
  • Excellent communication skills
