Escape Recruitment is excited to present an excellent opportunity with our client based in Fife for a Manufacturing Engineer focused on managing the Assembly and Test scope within the production process. In this role, you will be a vital contributor to the Engineering team, working to deliver innovative engineering solutions while ensuring that all processes align with industry standards, project timelines, and quality requirements.

The Role

  • Review engineering drawings, part reports, and procedures to ensure parts are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in line with production standards.
  • Create and maintain key production documentation, including assembly and test procedures, work instructions, and routings, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing and Design, to enhance production outcomes and continuously improve the production process.
  • Develop standard routings for various modules and product families to streamline costs and lead times.
  • Write detailed specifications for the design and procurement of shop tools, and ensure tooling configurations meet project requirements.
  • Update user documentation based on findings from the production process to reflect improvements and best practices.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience within the manufacturing sector, particularly within Assembly and Test is highly desirable.
  • A Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in developing production documentation and routings.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM (NX), PLM systems (TCE), and ERP systems (SAP) is beneficial.
