We are seeking an experienced Senior Carbon Engineer/Manager to lead the implementation of a carbon management system for a major infrastructure project, ensuring alignment with PAS2080 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and Coordinate Carbon Management System: Develop a PAS2080-compliant carbon management system, coordinating efforts across a multidisciplinary and multi-organisational project team.
Carbon Baseline and Forecasting: Coordinate the establishment of the project's carbon baseline and manage forecasts for reduced carbon emissions.
Sustainable Best Practices: Support the project delivery team in integrating sustainable best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Carbon Reduction Initiatives: Identify and facilitate carbon reduction opportunities, working closely with stakeholders to implement these initiatives.
Innovative Solutions: Identify, assess, and deploy innovative, low-carbon materials and technologies where feasible.
Case Studies and Lessons Learned: Compile and present case studies to share lessons learned and best practices.
Assurance and Review: Ensure the quality of all carbon-related deliverables and review broader sustainability deliverables.
Client Communication: Confidently communicate with clients, providing feedback on project KPIs related to sustainability and carbon management.
Team Management: Oversee the daily tasks of less experienced Carbon Engineers, providing mentorship and guidance.
Sustainability Support: Assist the Sustainability Project Lead with broader sustainability initiatives and tasks.
PAS2080 Audits: Support the audit process for PAS2080 compliance.
Training and Workshops: Deliver workshops and training sessions focused on carbon management and sustainability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in carbon management, with a preference for 7+ years of industry experience.
Expertise: Proficiency in whole life carbon quantification, PAS2080 Carbon Management Systems, and sustainable opportunities tracking.
Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible for security clearance.
Educational Background: Degree-qualified, with a strong preference for Chartered status (CEnv, CEng, IStructE, MechE, or equivalent).
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction and engineering practices.
