About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our clients Terminals & Energy Storage division. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of five strategically located terminals across the UK, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our valued clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic direction of the Terminals & Energy Storage division, aligning with overall business objectives.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee daily operations across all five terminals, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a team of three Operations Managers, and two Team Leadersproviding guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Develop and implement robust operational procedures and best practices.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Proactively identify and address client needs and concerns.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
Financial Performance:
- Own the P&L for the division, including budget management, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve profitability and maximize return on investment.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the petrochemical sector.
- Develop and implement strategic growth plans to expand the division's market share.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance across all terminals.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain a strong focus on employee safety and well-being.
Team Development:
- Foster a high-performing and engaged team culture.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Oversee succession planning and talent development within the division.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record of success in a senior management role within the petrochemical industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, P&L, and financial performance.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to travel extensively within the UK.
