We are looking for an Auto Electrician to join the Mobile Plant Maintenance team. The Mobile Plant Maintenance Team provides a maintenance and repair service for a wide range of mobile plant and equipment at the Liberty Steel Rotherham, Stocksbridge and Brinsworth sites.

The Role of the Mobile Plant Auto Electrician

  • The focus for this position will be for electrical breakdown fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on site vans, Material Handling Equipment, FLTs, HGVs, locomotives, mobile cranes, pallet trucks, battery servicing and a range of heavy industrial specialist vehicles used in the steel making business.
  • The vacancy is for a Mobile Plant Auto Electrician with specific engineering knowledge and skills to provide a mobile plant electrical maintenance / fault-finding service. Experience of a wide range of mobile plant would be an advantage.
  • Technicians should be apprentice, Level 3 Auto-Electrical and Mobile Electrical Operations trained and ideally have at least 2 years experience in auto electrics.
  • Team members must be able to understand safe working procedures and apply recognised safety practices to each task they are undertaking including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Team members must be self-motivated and highly flexible. They are required to work unsupervised and deliver a first-class customer service in accordance with departmental goals.
  • Key competencies are a methodical approach to work with attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making skills and effective verbal communication.

Required of the Mobile Plant Auto Electrician

We are looking for the Mobile Plant Auto Electrician to have the following.

  • Apprentice, IMI Level 3 Auto-Electrical and Mobile Electrical Operations trained
  • 2 years experience in maintaining vehicles
  • A current driving license is essential
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communicator

The Working Pattern of the Mobile Plant Auto Electrician

  • The working pattern is Monday to Friday 7:30-3:30 with alternative week Saturday 6:00-2:00 working followed by a day off midweek.
