A prominent Civil Engineering and Construction company based in Ireland but part of a larger UK Group are looking for a Senior SHEQ Advisor to be based in the UK.

This firm stands out as a leader in civil engineering and construction services across Ireland and the UK, and have developed significant expertise across various sectors including civil engineering, transport infrastructure, structure steel, power, and ground engineering.

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical guidance, advice and assurance on all SHEQ matters to support the natural resources, water infrastructure, steel fabrication and ground engineering arm of the Ireland Business Unit in the UK.

Role Duties:

Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

  • Producing monthly statistics
  • Carry out and document site audits and inspections
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
  • Supporting Project Management Teams
  • Investigating, logging and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances
  • Completing all necessary report forms
  • Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls
  • Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available
  • Prepare and present toolbox talks as and when required
  • Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings
  • Liaising with Client
  • Review subcontractor documentation

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification in health, safety, environmental and quality
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams,
  • Good written and spoken communication abilities,
  • Good IT skills with a high attention to detail,
  • A flexible and proactive approach,
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
