Our ideal candidate will be analytical and perceptive with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a professional, courteous and respectful manner. They will need to be able to work without supervision, but will be team orientated as well as showing flexibility, commitment and be commercially aware.

Candidates must hold a clean, full UK driving licence and be able to provide their own or have everyday access to a vehicle (with business insurance) for this role.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

With Building Surveying skills in most service areas; the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional and project services and contribute to the growth of the department.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Working across all sectors, the role will involve the undertaking of an array of building surveying services; in particular: -

  • Planned/Reactive Maintenance
  • Defect Analysis
  • Pre-Acquisition Surveys
  • Dilapidations
  • Party Wall Maters
  • Insurance Reinstatement Cost Assessments
  • Bank Funded Construction & Development Monitoring
  • Contract Administration
  • CDM Co-Ordination
  • Project Management

General Duties

  • office administration
  • use and understanding of Pro-Map

Legislation

  • Up-to-date knowledge of :
    • Current RICS legislation
    • The Party Wall Act 1996
    • Current relevant legislation
    • Health and Safety regulations and requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Organisational skills and an eye for detail and a willingness to work outside in all conditions
  • Interest in and firm knowledge of the built environment, including building regulations and health and safety legislation
  • An understanding of how their recommendations will affect a construction project's profitability
  • Relationship-building skills and a strong understanding of good customer service
  • IT skills, including knowledge of industry-specific software
  • Be analytically minded, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
