My client, a leading multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure contractor, is looking for a Civil Design Engineer ( CRE ) to join their expanding Design team in South Yorkshire due to a recent framework award.

Role Brief:
To design, detail and produce technical drawings for successful approval of rail civil infrastructure constructions
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Undertaking general measurement surveys of sites as required and proposing likely works to the wider construction team for discussion and agreement.
- Inputting into multidisciplinary tenders, both pricing of design elements and into written technical submissions.
- Conducting outline design and detailing of rail civil infrastructure providing accurate and appropriate imagery.
- Submission of quality design documents in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003, collating the key components as appropriate for inclusion.
- Producing accurate designers risk assessments, and design decision logs using a wide variety of forms.
- Providing weekly reports outlining work plans, forecasts and key achievements.
- Maintaining full understanding of commercial aspects of the project and ensuring appropriate cost control measures.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in civil or structural engineering.
- A structural engineer experienced in the design and detail of substructure and superstructure solutions in a railway environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- CRE sign off
- Working towards a professional membership - Desirable
