HV Commissioning Engineer - Offshore required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in England.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Electrical Systems Package site representatives and key supplier representatives to deliver the Commissioning activities as Clients Engineer, driving the work scope forwards on site to meet the project programme.
  • Client witness and sign off for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Commissioning for Offshore Converter Platform works and interfaces to the Onshore Converter Station and WTG's.
  • Provide technical support for Commissioning team inc. Project Senior Authorised Persons and M&E Engineers.
  • Investigate and report on HV Network system events during the commissioning phase.
  • Support Transmission System Commissioning Manager as required.
  • Ensure Asset Integrity of the HV Network during the Commissioning phase.
  • Accurate weekly reporting and record keeping on progress and issues to the Commissioning Package Manager.
  • Responsible for the Commissioning Teams core activities offshore with regards to the Offshore Converter Platform (OCP) programme.
  • Represent Commissioning team in offshore coordination and SIMOP meetings.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments to ensure Outstanding Engineering/Quality Issues are reported and resolved.
  • Support Commissioning Package Manager to ensure required offshore Commissioning procedures are available.
  • Interface with Export/Array Cable and Wind Turbine Generator package Commissioning activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate 'As Built' Drawings and Commissioning Records are kept by the Subcontractor.

Requirements

  • Proven Electrical Commissioning Engineer in a HV substation/Wind Farm Environment up to 400kV.
  • Knowledge of HVDC Transmission or Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTs).
  • Relevant technical education, for example Electrical Engineering Degree/HNC or equivalent.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH Certification.
  • All certificates required to work Offshore and within/on Wind Turbines are required - GWO Working at Height/Advanced Rescue, Enhanced First Aid, Sea Survival, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling and Slinger. (GWO Certification will not be required before commencement of Offshore works in ~2024). HUET with CA-EBS - TBC.
  • Experience of UK Grid interface management.
  • Proven track record in a Client role.
  • Understanding of HV Safety Rules.
  • Self-starting with planning/coordination and problem solving abilities.
  • Fluent written and verbal English with good communication skills
  • Valid UK working rights.
