Job Title: Duty Officer - DVC Sports Centre

Location: Wath Upon Dearne

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: £22,900 (£11,140.54 pro-rata) per annum + benefits
  • Pension: Automatic enrolment in the South Yorkshire Pension Scheme
  • Holiday Entitlement: 22 days per annum plus bank holidays (increases with service to a maximum of 26 days plus bank holidays)

About the Role:As a Duty Officer, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Sports Centre, including customer service, health and safety, and bookings management. This position requires you to support and lead a team to deliver a high standard of service, ensuring the facility operates smoothly, meets income targets, and provides a safe and welcoming environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Supervise daily operations, including facility cleanliness, building inspections, and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop a motivated and effective team, covering planned and unplanned absences as required.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, handle enquiries, complaints, and promote memberships and events.
  • Health & Safety: Act as a Fire Marshal and First Aider, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, income generation, and adhere to financial procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Supervisory experience in a leisure environment and fitness instruction delivery.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 in Fitness, Sport, or Leisure Management; Level 2 Gym Instructor; First Aid at Work certification.
  • Skills: Strong organisational skills, customer service proficiency, and knowledge of health and safety in sports settings.
  • Flexibility: Available to work on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
