What You Need….A degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of experience providing engineering support, ideally with HV systems in the process industry.
- Expertise in power distribution, large motors (synchronous), transformers, HV switchgear, and cable systems.
- Chartered Engineer status with the IET (or working towards it - equivalent experience considered).
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to interact and support multiple teams.
- A strong focus on safety and commitment to an inclusive work environment.
- Experience working within voltage ranges from 11kV to 33kV.
- Flexibility to travel to sites across the UK & Ireland when required.

About the Company
Despite being a major player in the industrial and medical gas supply sector, this company operates one of the largest private electrical networks in the UK. Some of their electrical assets include motors powerful enough to supply small towns, alongside a vast high-voltage infrastructure. Engineers in this role will be joining a business that values technical excellence and provides exposure to large-scale electrical systems rarely seen outside of the utility sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical guidance on power distribution, transformers, HV switchgear, and large rotating machinery.
- Act as a strategic leader, ensuring electrical operations and projects align with business objectives across the UK & Ireland.
- Oversee asset repairs, replacements, and manage the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process.
- Advise and support technicians daily, leveraging hands-on experience to provide solutions and ensure best practices.
- Lead electrical engineering deliverables on complex multi-discipline projects, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Take ownership of internal standards and provide expert technical authority and guidance.
