ACCOUNTABLE TO: Proposition Sales Director
LOCATIONS: UK - Remote


Summary

The Proposition Consultant will be vital in building our propositions and proposals in the Citizen Experience and Digital Business Services proposition team, delivering across our Public Services client groups. You will support our proposition and sales teams in leading the development of compelling, innovative, cost-competitive, and repeatable propositions and proposals that focus on our front and back-office capabilities, providing input and support to broader opportunities.
This customer-facing role is a thought leader in the Citizen Experience arena, delivering quality customer-focused solutions that beat our competition and exceed our customers' expectations.

Leadership:
  • Be a thought leader for the Citizen Experience and Digital Business Services area, ensuring we understand market trends and ensure supports clients with their roadmaps.
  • Support CPS's growth target by ensuring we are doing the right thing for our clients and working in partnership with our product and delivery teams.
  • Lead by example, 'set the tone' and help shape the proposition direction, driving quality in every customer response.
  • Be a 'go-to person' for presales advice and guidance on the propositions.

Relationship Management:
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships across CPS and broader business to ensure the function is aligned and integrated with the wider business and its processes.
  • Develop productive relationships with customers inside and outside the business, working in partnership to reduce silos and drive joint success with our customers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and development of winning propositions and proposals, including costing and articulation
  • Take responsibility for the performance and quality of output to support growth, ensuring timescales are met and pricing and designs are completed in line with business strategy and targets.
  • Working directly on customer opportunities, attending customer meetings, and developing responses to their needs.
  • Primary focus on delivering net new external business for Citizen Experience and Digital Business Services propositions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to bids, assuring the quality of input and overall proposals for bids.
  • Innovation - drive innovation in our approach to customer needs.
  • Leading innovation and client-shaping sessions.
  • Write compelling articulation of development and repeatable solutions to deliver high-scoring bid responses.
  • Provide support to the broader growth team to help stimulate service demand and inform/influence sales opportunities.
  • Help define and develop propositions and provide feedback on gaps or development opportunities, acting as the voice of the customer as we continue to develop and evolve.
  • Knowledgebase - work closely with Sales and marketing to generate a comprehensive knowledgebase/library to support the end-to-end pre-sales and sales lifecycle.
  • Support Product development within the proposition group.Working closely with the Product Team to ensure understanding of the latest releases, updates, pricing, and technology roadmaps.
  • Identifying areas for improvement to drive customer benefits.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to generate new business leads, acting as a spokesperson for CPS at sales events and conferences.


Background / Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Digital BPS and a view of the broader Citizen Experience market.
  • Good understanding of technology trends and how they effecet our customers.
  • Demonstrable skills in understanding the needs of organisations and designing and delivering compelling solutions to address them.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the bigger picture of how our team fits into the CPS organisation and articulate how the function should align and integrate to contribute positively.
  • Able to work autonomously aligned with broad direction.
  • Strong focus on execution, "getting things done".
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and clients.
  • Able to manage competing priorities for own activities, to deliver against agreed priorities and deadlines, escalating if required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proactive approach to managing actions.
  • Clear and concise communication skills (verbal, written & presentational).

  • Extensive experience in delivering solutions and proposals in front and back-office services to address complex opportunities in the Public Sector.
  • Able to build effective internal and external relationships at all levels.
  • Proven presales capability, leading the development of innovative and efficient responses which achieve demonstrable success.
  • Personal integrity that builds trust and confidence in clients and colleagues
  • Confident and personable with strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and compellingly at all levels of an organisation through a variety of different methods (including verbal, written and presentation)
  • Listen, engage, and discuss appropriately (consultative, not afraid to challenge, positive and persuasive without the need to preach)
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to working with clients, colleagues, partners & vendors.
