Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting a Requisition Engineer on a 6 Month contract which is Remote.

This position is Inside IR35

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compressor Requisition Engineer with a strong background in compressor systems to join our team with the Client. This role will focus on the pre-FEED stage, specification and scoping for compressor systems across large-scale projects and programmes. The ideal candidate will have experience in procuring compressors and a track record of delivering engineering solutions in a complex and regulated environment.

This opportunity will involve working on a landmark project for the client with national significance and importance. Knowledge and experience of hydrogen technologies will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering effort for compressor systems and associated equipment, ensuring the development of comprehensive specifications and scoping requirements.

Define and establish technical standards for compressors, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Manage the procurement process for compressors, working closely with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams during the design, development, and implementation stages.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical requirements, project timelines, and budget constraints.

Take a lead role in the pre-FEED phase, ensuring the technical feasibility and integration of compressors within broader system designs.

Oversee the preparation and review of engineering documentation, including reports, drawings and design specifications.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and systems, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Foster a collaborative environment between engineering teams, procurement, operations, and external contractors.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Extensive experience in the engineering and management of compressor systems, ideally within the oil, gas, or energy sectors.

Expertise in the early stages of a project including specification, scoping, and development of compressor systems.

Proven experience in procuring compressors and managing the supplier relationship from design through to delivery.

Knowledge of technical standards and regulatory requirements in the compressor industry.

Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely project delivery.

Excellent communication, with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on practical and cost-effective solutions.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience working with hydrogen technologies or within the renewable energy sector.

Familiarity with the latest advancements in compressor technology, particularly in relation to sustainability and energy efficiency.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent is desirable.
