School Governor at Hilltop School

Hilltop School is a Rotherham based special school for children between the ages of 2-19. We are situated across two sites in Rotherham; our Maltby site is for pupils in EYFS-Key Stage 3 and our Forest View site is for pupils in Key Stage 4 and Post 16. At Hilltop, our mission is to equip our pupils with the skills they need for adulthood by providing exceptional personalised education and care. The school is part of Nexus Academy Trust. The Hilltop School is seeking a new Parent Governor.

 

Governors are volunteers who have an interest in improving outcomes for children and young people.

As a governor you would work alongside other people in the Academy Council for the school. These are made up of Staff Governors, Parent Governors, Community Governors, Headteacher and officers from the Nexus Central Trust Team. As a Parent Governor you would need to have a child who is a pupil on roll at the school you are interested in.

As a team you would receive information and reports related to the school’s

  • Self-Evaluation
  • School Improvement Plan
  • Pupil and Community Voice

Meetings are scheduled in the daytime during the school day or evenings, depending on the individual school and the dates are set a year in advance. Meetings generally last for 2 hours and there is one meeting per term.
