GSL Education is currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Rotherham.

Job Summary: A SEMH teacher working with students with special educational needs and mental health needs in schools play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH requirements.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to promote collaboration and student success.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and provide pastoral support to students as needed.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
