Shift Pattern:Monday to Thursday: 8:30am 5:00pm, Friday: 9:00am 12:00pm (38 hours per week)
Team Size:8 professionals within SHEQ team

About the Role:
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior SHEQ Advisor to join our expanding team. This role plays a crucial part in promoting and maintaining a positive culture surrounding safety, health, environmental, and quality management (SHEQ) across our site. The Senior SHEQ Advisor will lead efforts in continuous improvement initiatives for health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality, ensuring the site operates in line with the highest standards and legal requirements.

You will work closely with the Quality Manager, senior managers, and other site teams to implement SHEQ strategies and ensure best practices. This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on safety and quality standards while developing initiatives that improve workplace health and safety.

The Role:
As a Senior SHEQ Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and promoting the continuous improvement of SHEQ standards and initiatives.
  • Conducting SHEQ audits and inspections across the site to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Supporting the Quality Manager in maintaining OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems and assisting in annual reviews.
  • Conducting investigations into root causes of quality, H&S, and environmental issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitoring environmental impacts and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Providing training and support to staff to promote health, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Liaising with customers and external bodies to ensure expectations regarding product quality and safety standards are met.
  • Completing risk assessments, site inspections, and suggesting improvements to processes and policies.
  • Developing and reviewing safety policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in health, safety, and quality practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a SHEQ Advisor or Junior Manager role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Educated to Bachelors degree level (minimum 2:1 classification) or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar SHEQ management systems.
  • Experience with internal and external audits for SHEQ compliance.
  • Ideally, experience within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
  • COSHH trained and familiar with conducting risk assessments.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working with H&S, environmental, and quality standards across manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
