Site Agent

Long Term Project (14 Month Contract)

My client is a Tier 1 contractor based in Rotherham, who is currently looking for a SiteAgent on a 14 month contract. This is a great opportunity to work on a large civils project in the U.K.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe delivery of significant and potentially complex projects to quality standards and in line budget and programme. 
  • Liaise with a design manager to ensure designs are been progressed and approved between the designer and client and in line with the programme.
  • Able to Work in mixed collaborative teams to achieve these goals and ensure the project meets the aspirations and aims.
  • Monitor Health and Safety standards of all aspects of the project in accordance with SHEMS, taking action to improve performance and correct poor practice and behaviours.
  • Complete weekly inspections of the works, raise observations and report and investigate incidents. 
  • Produce and review RAMS for all activities on site.  Ensure they are implemented and amended when required.
  • Ensure Inductions, RAMS briefings and TBT are completed and that all persons are competent for the tasks being undertaken.
  • Ensure that all persons are put to work and adequately supervised.
  • Ensure that all statutory inspections are complete and undertake duties of TWC and lifting Appointed Person if required.
  • Hold the Principal Contractor responsibility where they are appointed under the CDM Regulations, Coordinating the safe activities of everyone on site (e.g. subcontractors, designers, UKPN staff, etc.)
  • Produce and maintain the Construction Phase Plan undertaking duties as delegated within.
  • Wherever possible, minimise impact on local communities and provide a positive image, assisting with Stakeholder liaison where appropriate.
  • Ensure all licences and permits in place for the project and that any conditions or constraints are adhered to.
  • Development of quality plans in accordance with specifications ensuring implementation of ITPs, Record Sheets, NCRs and Defects. 
  • Monthly reporting of statistics and contribute to monthly client reporting.  Attend monthly Progress Meetings.
  • Maintain 5 week look ahead programme with resource allocation and provide input to Contract programme updates.
  • Maintain records including a detailed Site Diary and records suitable for production of the H&S File.
  • Input to Risk Register reviews and ensure the implementation of mitigation measures outlined in the project Risk Register.
  • Work with the Commercial Team and PM to procure subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in the development and review of monthly End of Life Forecast and PM Reporting.
  • Liaise with the programmer updating programmes weekly.
  • Hold weekly site progress meetings and attend co-ordination meetings with other parties.
  • Management of contract and subcontracts including the issue of EWN and reviewing CE and CEQ submissions.  Hold and record weekly progress meetings with Subcontractors and ensure Subcontractors are providing updated programmes and progress reports.
  • Mentoring and line management of those within the project team.
  • Input to lessons learnt reviews for the project and contribution to the development of best practice.
  • Such task as occur from time to time for the operation of a construction site or as requested by the senior managers.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of NEC4 Contracts including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
  • Proven experience in a managing a civil works contract and knowledge of industry standards and methodologies. 
  • Demonstrate leadership to site teams in collaborative culture, safety and quality.
  • Able to monitor and report against programme and financial requirements.
  • Willing to challenge standards to improve quality or value.
  • CSCS/EUSR and SMSTS holder
  • Excellent communication/leadership skills
  • Management of subcontractors and direct labour within a multi trade environment
  • First Aider and UK driving licence holder.
