Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a school in Rotherham.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students, helping them thrive in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Responsibilities of the SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in their learning and development.
  • Work closely with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students.
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in a constructive manner.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and behaviour.

Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or related fields.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
