The role is 100% home based.

My UK based client are looking to recruit an experienced Network Engineer for their internal team. You will be supporting a user base with more than 1500 users, within a team of 20.

The role

The Network Engineer provides day-to-day IT networking support to the business. As a key point of contact for the IT team, you will build, deploy, co-ordinate, and maintain the networking IT environment the company needs to run and external operations

This role is within our Infrastructure team and will assist in both business-as-usual activities as well as key local and strategic projects.

Duties, skills and experience:

  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, phone system, VPN, QoS, SIP, BGP SDWAN, SASE, etc) in Data centre scenarios
  • Experience in Checkpoint /Palo alto Firewalls and Cisco switches
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide troubleshooting support to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Evaluate and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
