Mechanical Fitter Required (rotating equipment)

A well-established provider of rotating equipment repairs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pump Fitter to join the team. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial pumping systems across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and assemble a range of pump systems, including centrifugal, diaphragm, and screw pumps, following engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards
Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in pump systems and carry out necessary repairs
Conduct routine inspections, pressure tests, and flow tests to ensure system functionality
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site personnel to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Pump Fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of pump systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
Understanding of mechanical systems and relevant tools/equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
Experience working with a variety of pumps such as centrifugal, screw, diaphragm, or peristaltic.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar) or a time-served apprenticeship is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving license is advantageous, as site visits may be required.
Experience in industries such as water treatment, oil and gas, or manufacturing is beneficial.
Basic electrical knowledge or qualifications are a plus.
