Exciting Opportunity for an Instrument Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Instrument Technician to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Excellence: Schedule, perform, and document both routine and non-routine maintenance on a variety of process control equipment, including transmitters, controllers, and analyzers.
- Service Delivery: Carry out servicing in line with manufacturer specifications and assist in vendor maintenance tasks.
- Operational Reliability: Maintain all site services to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly.
- 24/7 Support: Respond to on-call maintenance requirements and provide advice during plant breakdowns outside of standard hours.
- Facility Upkeep: Ensure that all areas are kept clean, safe, and free of hazards, contributing to a well-organized work environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with operational staff, assisting with general maintenance across various systems and exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Safety First: Perform equipment isolations to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
- Installation and Commissioning Support: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities and systems.
- Vendor Interaction: Work alongside specialist vendors to ensure timely and efficient servicing of equipment.
- Contractor Supervision: Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety permits and high-quality work.
- Continual Learning: Stay updated with the latest maintenance techniques and product knowledge through training and seminars, improving efficiency and performance of in-house services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in maintenance and servicing of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Relevant technical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and improvement.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
