***Mechanical Project Engineer - Contract Opportunity - Potential Long Term Contract***
A leading engineering company has recently secured several high-profile design projects and is looking to hire a Mechanical Project Engineer with expertise in mechanical handling systems. The successful candidate will support the design and project engineering of advanced handling systems, with an emphasis on ensuring quality and safety across all project phases.
This position requires both office-based work in South Yorkshire and regular site visits for surveys, meetings, and project collaboration including sites in the South of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the project team on designing and engineering mechanical handling systems.
- Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), phasing plans, and other essential project documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and attend project meetings both remotely and on-site.
- Conduct on-site surveys, providing technical support and ensuring project progression.
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and quality standards during all phases of the project.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in design and project engineering in the mechanical handling sector.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar design software.
- Strong ability to produce BOMs, phasing plans, and other project documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to obtain airside passes (temporary/permanent) for site work.
