Unique School Solutions are working with a school in Rotherham who are looking for an Autism (ASD) specialist Teaching Assistant to start ASAP. This is a part-time job, working 5 mornings a week.

You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a Y1 student with Autism who is non verbal and displays challenging behaviours. Working alongside the SENCO and class teacher, you will support the student during lessons and also during break periods to ensure they receive the best level of education as possible. You will be expected to monitor and provide feedback on a number of different elements such as behaviour, progression and integration.

Due to the needs of this student, this is a challenging job but also extremely rewarding.

In order to apply for this job you must:

  • Have experience working with young children with Autism (ASD) for at least 3 months in the last 2 years
  • Have a decent level of physical fitness
  • Be immediately available, and willing to commit to the job
  • Have a valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one

Additionally:

  • Special Needs qualifications would be beneficial but not essential
  • Teaching Assistant/Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualifications but be beneficial but not essential
  • Training such as TeamTeach would be beneficial but not essential
