Location: Hampshire Area
We are seeking a Costing Engineer to join our client's commercial and engineering team. This role focuses on technical quoting and involves assessing and compiling data to provide costing insights and define production workflows for electronic PCB products and sub-assemblies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PCB manufacturing processes, including SMT, PTH, cable assemblies, and box builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare technical quotes for electronic PCB products and sub-assemblies.
- Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for technical compliance and capability.
- Analyse BOMs, Gerber data, and technical drawings to define process requirements.
- Identify and address technical and odd-form process requirements.
- Raise RFIs with customers for clarifications.
- Create and update routing operations in the ERP system.
- Generate detailed operational notes and support production planning queries.
- Analyseprevious build orders and implement system updates for repeat products.
Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of electronic PCB manufacturing, including SMT, reflow processes, soldering, and press fits.
- Proficiency with BOMs, mechanical drawings, and advanced Excel usage.
- Understanding of issue control and engineering protocols.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IPC610 and/or AS9100 standards.
- Experience with SMT process engineering.
- Proficiency with CAM tools like Factory Logix or UCAM.
