Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective delivery of minor and major building and engineering projects in-line with the Trust standing instructions and Estates department policies and procedures;
- Provide effective technical support to the Estates department and wider organisation in order to ensure the reliability and efficiency of building structure, fabric, finishes equipment and services;
- Assist in the co-ordination and development of the Departments quality system;
- Responsible for the undertaking of Risk assessments and implementation of actions identified through the risk assessment process;
- Develop skills and knowledge of Modern methods of construction as a key driver for current and future Trust developments and projects;
- Hold a sound understanding of the Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM) and responsibilities in the context of Hospital projects and construction schemes;
- Ensure efficient and effective maintenance and operation of building structure, fabric, finishes, equipment and services;
- Consider condition along with planned preventative maintenance systems when designing for implementation any new developments or projects;
- Ensuring the safety of buildings, plant, equipment and services for which he/she is responsible and safe methods of working as required by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH Regulation, Building and Construction Regulations and the Trusts Safety Policy;
- Carry out job costing for minor /major construction or engineering schemes and implement as appropriate. Schemes / projects will generally require design and specification co-ordination.
Ideal Candidate:
- First Degree, HND, HNC or proven graduate level ability/experience in Building services or Construction;
- Working knowledge of project management applications, also working knowledge of AutoCAD in relation to healthcare related projects;
- Knowledge of Health and safety including Asbestos, CDM, regulations, infection control, Fire regulations and Water safety.
